Sports Concussions: A Sideline Evaluation Presentation
On Saturdays during the fall sports season there’s no place Dr. Moriarity, Head Team Physician at the University of Notre Dame, would rather be than at the football stadium. He joins the athletes on the sidelines.
James Moriarity, M.D., serves as a Sports Medicine Consultant for Axon Sports.
Dr. Moriarty, Head Team Physician at the University of Notre Dame, has more than 10 years of experience in the clinical application of computerized cognitive testing with Athletes—a tenure matched by very few in American sports.
He has cared for more than 6,000 Athletes during his time at Notre Dame. In addition to his current position, Dr. Moriarity is past president of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine and a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine. He is an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame, a graduate of the University of Southern California Medical School, and board certified in family medicine with a certificate of added qualification in Sports Medicine.
“Concussions are a serious issue in sports,” commented Dr. Moriarity. “What I find compelling about Axon Sports is the company's collaborative approach to engage Athletes, Parents, Doctors, Coaches, and Athletic Trainers in proactive concussion education and care. Parents, especially, are empowered to participate in ways that help support their children’s healthy competitive spirit, and help keep them safe in their pursuits.”
